Special care has been taken to make climbing this mountain an achievement accessible to everyone. In 2009, the Tourism Board of Tenero and Valle Verzasca worked to ensure that the final path up to the peak, which up until now had been quite difficult, particularly for less-than-expert climbers, easy to climb.
They put in gangways, easy steps and special holds for ropes and gear, which make climbing this last part easier for everyone.
Scaling the Sassariente has always been every climber's dream, because of the breathtaking view from the top. From the peak, you can see not only the upper reaches of the Verbano, but also part of the Alps, with the eternally white Monte Rosa range, the 4000-meter peaks of the Valais Alps and the Verzasca and Valmaggiore mountains.
