The Val Verzasca Ethnographic Museum is quite interesting. Also of note are the ancient village oven, which is used to this day and the wool exchange run by the Pro Verzasca organization, which is responsible for dyeing, carding and spinning the wool. The finished products are sold in the town’s craft shops. For those interested in art, the town’s church boasts paintings by Cherubino Patà, a native of Sonogno and a pupil of the great Courbet. Another point of interest is the façade of a house in the village that depicts an 18th century peasant version of Michelangelo’s Last Judgment.
Sonogno is also the point of departure for a number of excellent excursions and a centre for a number of winter sports. In the summertime, Sonogno hosts a number of musical events, such as the Verzasca Country Festival and a number of country fairs.
