For aficionados of air-borne sports, the region of the Magadino Plain has much to offer at every level in superb countryside comprised of cultivated fields, countryside conservation zones (the Bolle di Magadino) and Lake Maggiore.
Using the cantonal airport of Locarno-Magadino as their base, various aviation companies organise panoramic flights, gliding, paragliding and parachuting, including tuition in these sports.
Unfortunately, there is no good public-transport access to the airport.
